Sāmudrika Lakṣaṇa · The 6th-century science of face reading
Your face carries answers.
The ancient texts knew how to read them.
Marriage, wealth, career, health — the Bṛhat Saṃhitā of Varāhamihira described what the features of a face historically meant for each of them. FaceShastra measures your face and shows you, passage by passage, exactly what the classical texts say — with sources cited.

How it works
A photograph, read privately
Your face is measured in your browser — 478 landmark points, reduced to 23 classical proportions. The photograph itself never leaves your device.
Matched to the texts
Each proportion is matched to the lakṣaṇa the classical corpus describes — the divisions of the face, the seats of the brow, nose, lips and chin — across 11 traditional domains of life.
A cited, structured reading
You receive 41 findings, each pairing the exact measurement taken with what the texts say about it. Part of the reading is free; the complete reading with PDF is one payment.
The 11 seats your reading covers
Each seat answers the question people have asked of face readers for fifteen centuries:

Common questions
Is this astrology? Does it predict my future?
No prediction is made. FaceShastra is an educational rendering of what a specific classical text tradition — Sāmudrika Lakṣaṇa — historically said about facial features. Each finding cites its source. It is offered for cultural and educational interest, and there is no scientific basis for inferring character or future events from facial proportions.
What happens to my photograph?
It is measured inside your browser and discarded. It is never uploaded to our servers, never stored, and never used for anything else. Only the numerical proportions — which cannot be turned back into a face — are kept, so your reading can be shown to you again. See the privacy notice.
What do I get free, and what does the paid reading unlock?
The free reading generates part of your report instantly — including how many aśubha (cautionary) marks were found. The complete 41-finding reading unlocked on screen, a typeset PDF of the full document, and optional email delivery are a single payment, shown to you in full on your reading page before you pay anything (charged in INR — your card converts automatically), delivered immediately. Nothing is shipped.
What is the refund policy?
The reading is a digital download delivered instantly, so all sales are final — try the free reading first and pay only if you want the complete one. If you paid and nothing unlocked, or you were charged twice, that is always made good. See the refund policy.
Can I read someone else's face?
Only with their explicit permission — you confirm this before uploading. We do not accept photographs of people who have not agreed to be read.
Please read: FaceShastra is educational and cultural content about a classical text tradition. A reading is not a prediction, a diagnosis, or medical, psychological, financial or relational advice of any kind. Complexion and skin tone are excluded from every measurement we take, deliberately and permanently.
