FaceShastra produces a written reading of a photographed face, drawn from Sāmudrika Lakṣaṇa — the Indian tradition of body and face reading set down in the Bṛhat Saṃhitā of Varāhamihira in the sixth century.
This is offered for cultural interest and entertainment. A reading is not a prediction, a diagnosis, or advice of any kind — not medical, psychological, financial, legal, or relational. Nothing here should be relied on in making a decision about your life, your health, your money, or another person. There is no scientific basis for inferring character or future events from facial proportions, and we make no claim that there is.
What you are buying
A single written reading of forty-one findings across eleven traditional seats. Eight are shown without payment. One payment of ₹399 opens the remaining thirty-three. There is no subscription and no recurring charge.
The reading is tied to the browser you made it in. Clearing your browser storage or switching device may make it unreachable, and we have no way to identify you in order to restore it, because we deliberately collect nothing that would identify you.
Refunds
If the reading does not open after payment, write to us and we will either open it or refund you in full. If you simply did not like what it said, write to us within seven days and we will refund you anyway. We would rather return ₹399 than argue about a face reading.
Your photograph
You must have the right to upload the photograph you use — either it is of you, or the person shown has explicitly agreed. Uploading a photograph of someone who has not agreed is a breach of these terms and, in India, likely a breach of the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 as well. Your photograph is measured on your own device and never reaches us; see the privacy notice.
What the reading will not do
We deliberately exclude complexion and skin tone from every measurement. The classical corpus contains judgements about fairness of complexion; we do not reproduce them, and we will not add them. The reading does not rate attractiveness, does not diagnose any medical or psychological condition, and does not tell you whom to marry.
Acceptable use
Do not use this service to evaluate another person without their knowledge, to screen candidates for employment, tenancy, credit or admission, or to make any decision about another person's life. It is not fit for those purposes and using it that way may be unlawful where you live.
Availability
We aim to keep readings available, but this is a small service and we do not promise uninterrupted access. If it shuts down we will give notice and honour refunds for recent purchases.
Liability
To the extent the law allows, our liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us. We are not liable for decisions you make after reading what we wrote, which is the entire reason the framing above is stated as plainly as it is.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts of India have jurisdiction over any dispute.
